摘 要

美国现实主义作家杰克·伦敦，作品有着鲜明的个人特色与创作特点，小说《白牙》是其代表作之一，作品以独特的视角和深刻的寓意深受读者的喜爱，该小说一反传统动物小说思维，以动物回归文明为线索，反映了人与自然、成长等主题，在文学史上留下了璀璨的光点，丰富和发展了动物小说的创作。本文主要以“白牙”形象分析为主，剖析其成长过程中不同阶段的形象转变，解读“白牙”从天真、勇敢到乖僻、孤独，从冷血、无情到温顺、忠诚的形象转变历程，并结合时代背景及作者经历，探究“白牙”这一个性鲜明、多次转变的动物形象是如何构成的，从而更好地解读“白牙”背后所蕴含的的生态意义与文学意义。

《白牙》又被译作《雪虎》，是美国作家杰克·伦敦发表于 1906 年的一部中篇小说，是动物小说中不可多得的经典著作，其以加拿大西北边陲的冰封地带为背景，叙述了一只拥有四分之三狼族血统的幼狼“白牙”如何进入人类世界并逐渐转变为狗的过程。《白牙》以相反于回归自然野性的传统动物小说思维描述了动物由野性向人性的转变。“白牙”作为小说的主人公，其成长中遭遇的四次不同经历构成了整部小说的主要内容，而这四次遭遇中的“白牙”所展现出的不同姿态也正是反映了从野性到人性的转变，反映了人对动物、人对自然的不同态度所带来的不同后果，其中既蕴含着作者对于人与自然关系的反思，也反映着作者曲折的人生经历，更为重要的的是，“白牙”这一全新的动物形象极大地丰富了动物小说的创作思维，成为百年以来动物小说创作的经典范例。
