《赎罪》是英国作家伊恩麦克尤恩的小说，从2001年出版以来，获得了多项殊荣。它讲述的是一个关于爱情、战争和罪恶的故事。伊恩麦克尤恩是英国公认的“国民作家”。他早期的作品风格多表现暴力、乱伦、死亡等，被称为“恐怖麦克尤恩”。之后麦克尤恩的创作渐渐成熟，将重心由青少年幽闭的内心世界转向政治、战争的外在世界。《赎罪》就是一部麦克尤恩突破以往的局限创作的作品。国内外的许多评论家对麦克尤恩作品有所研究，从不同角度如内容、人物、主题方面对作品进行了分析。

本文分为绪论部分、西方救赎文学、布里奥妮的救赎、救赎主题的内涵四个部分来分析《赎罪》中的“救赎”主题。现代社会生活中人的成长阶段有着种种心理问题，分析小说主人公布里奥妮的心理结构变化，对于解释人的行为和人性问题会有帮助。通过研究小说，对于关注道德犯罪和家庭教育方面的问题，具有一定的时代意义。通过发现主人公心理成长发展方面的伦理困境，引起读者对人的“救赎”行为的沉思，明白主人公通过自我救赎，实现了自我的真正成长，启发对人生存在价值和意义的思考。

ABSTRACT

Atonement is a novel by British writer Ian McEwan, who has received many honors since his publication in 2001.It tells about the story of love, war and sin. Ian McEwan is a British recognized “national writer”. His early work style shows more as violence, incest, death and so on. He is known as “horror McEwan”. Later, McEwan’s creation gradually matured, and the center of gravity was shifted from the inner world of youth to politics and the outer world of war. Atonement is a McEwan to break through the past limitations of the creation of works. There is a great deal of research on McEwan’s works at home and abroad, and many literary critics analyze the novel Atonement from the aspects of subject, content and characters.

This paper is divided into four parts: Introduction part, Western Salvation Literature, Briony redemption and redemption theme, to analyze the “redemption” theme in the novel. There are all kinds of psychological problems in the growth stage of modern social life, and the analysis of the psychological structure of the protagonist Briony in the novel Atonement is helpful to explain human behavior and human nature. It has a certain epoch significance to pay attention to the problems of moral crime and family education by studying novels. By discovering the ethical dilemma of the protagonist’s psychological growth and development, it causes the contemplation of the “salvation” behavior in human nature, and realizes that the protagonist has realized the real growth of the ego through self-redemption, and has inspired the thinking of the value and significance of life.

1.1 作家简介

伊恩拉塞尔麦克尤恩1948年出生于一座英格兰小城。他的父亲曾参加过敦刻尔克战役。作为随军家属，麦克尤恩的整个童年是跟着母亲在父亲的军营里度过的。童年的经历对后来麦克尤恩的作品涉及战争有一些影响，小说《赎罪》就是以二战前夕到敦刻尔克大撤退时期为背景的。麦克尤恩是20世纪70年代以来活跃于英国文坛的最具影响力的作家之一。他创作的作品很多，涉及题材广泛。2001年出版的《赎罪》（Atonement）获得多项文学大奖，包括史密斯文学奖、美国国家书评人文学奖、洛杉矶时报小说奖和圣地亚哥欧洲小说奖。其他代表作品有《在切瑟尔海滩上》、《星期六》、《阿姆斯特丹》、《水泥花园》等，获得多项提名和奖项。
